Teach your tools once, use that knowledge forever
Every project has unwritten rules. Capture them so you don't have to explain the same thing in every session.
Every project has conventions that aren't written down. 'We always use this date format.' 'We never import from that folder directly.' 'Deploy only through the deploy script, never manually.' These rules live in your head until you write them down. Then they become shared knowledge that persists across sessions.
Every time you catch yourself correcting a mistake ('no, do it this way'), write that rule down. Over time, you build a set of project-specific conventions that prevent the same mistakes from happening again. The correction is only valuable if it persists.
Every time you correct someone (or an AI assistant) during a work session. The correction fixes it once. Writing it down fixes it forever.
